WINE TASTING - July 14th, 2006

The pictures below capture a wine-tasting event that 7 of the 8 Booz interns and 4 of the Booz partners enjoyed Friday, 7/14 after work. Harry, a senior partner in the Booz office and a true connoisseur of wines from all over the world, was kind enough to host the event at his house. We tried six red wines during the course of the evening --
1) a Bordeaux from France
2) a Cabernet from Napa Valley, California
3) a Pinot Noir from Napa Valley, California
4) a wine from Argentina
5) a wine from Italy
6) ..and a Shiraz from Australia

-- a true wine adventure around the world. The six bottles used were estimated to amount to ~$2500 total.

As we walked down to Harry's basement, this is the scene that grasped our senses -- 15 seats wtih 6 glasses of wine perfectly shaped around each setting.

Here is the entire group (15 of us I believe -- 7 interns, 4 patners, and 4 significant others) sitting around the table near the end of the wine tasting event.

Here is a photo of the two recently hired Booz employees, Brent and Ramnik, in the dining room enjoying some hors d'oeuvres after the wine-tasting. The smiles on their face indicate their joy from the news that they heard earlier that day.  

RODEO EVENT -- July 8th, 2006

The pictures below capture a rodeo event on Saturday evening, 7/8/06. The nigh started out with a dinner, followed by a rodeo, and concluding with a concert by Pat Benatar -- Yes, I said Pat Benatar, a name you may recall from the early 1980's.

The night started out with a fantastic 4 course dinner. This properly energized our stomachs for what proved to be an entertaining night.

Gines and Briah, two othe summer interns, sporting the western Booz Allen look, along with Andrew Clyde, a partner in the Dallas office.  

Andrew Clyde again, with his son and I who are smoothly sporting the doo rag look after dinner. We had to do something with the free handkerchiefs -- right?  

After dinner, we made it over to the rodeo, where we had great seats. They started the rodeo by bringing all the kids out, and having them chase a young calf.  

Here we have one of the more entertaining parts of the night -- caff roping.  

now we have two cowboys roping a young calf running for his life -- as if one cowboy was not enough.  

..and the final event was introduced by the announcer as "FAST HORSES .and HOT WOMEN!" ..or maybe it was the other way?  

...and now the social side of the rodeo. We had a number of tables in the VIP section ..with an open bar! Here is myself and Briah (both sporting our new hats purchased that day) ..as well as Adriane and Leslie.  

Are these smiles big enough? We were all having a good time at this event.

The Booz guys got a little crazy as the night went on. Not sure what they were doing here, but watching the rodeo can certaiinly get the testosterone flowing!

...and a closer look at the Jose jr. shows that he may have had a few too many to drink! J/K .. he is fantastic boy with great energy, and most importantly, he was gracious enough to help us with our budding spanish for the majority of the evening.
